Hello Inky Peeps! It's my first time as the Inspiration Hostess. I'm here to DAZZLE and INSPIRE YOU! ;) WOW the pressure... OK, so I have always had an issue with using DP, you know more than 2 pieces....Until I read a tip from Susie Q. Here is the information she shared:
SUSIE Q-TIP: As ya'll probably
already knew, I love mixing patterned papers. I usually max out at 3 or
4 different ones on a single card. What works for me--A large bold, a
medium scale repeated pattern that's not as "loud" and another pattern
that may be small to medium in scale, as long as the colors work
together. When pulling out papers, don't be scared...when they are in
12x12 sheets, that's a lot of paper, and a lot going on visually. Keep
in mind you will only be using small "doses" of them on your card. Tie
them together with neutral solids and a punch of color in an
embellishment or 2. It's a good formula. Try it.
So I tried this formula, and I also found that I could combine DP from the same manufacturer but different collections. I used Echo Park Victoria Gardens and Hello Spring. The colors were identical and it provided me with the small med and large theory. I then used an ice cream die for the Solid punch of color embellishment as well as the three pearls in the top right corner. To give it some hmmm I rounded 2 corners opposite of each other... Here's my card using Lili's Ice Cream
I hope this inspires you to dig through your paper collections. Perhaps next time I will inspire you even more. It's been a ROUGH week. Have a great day and Hope your Holiday Weekend was full of love and fun!
