This month's New Stamp Set Releases are
Asian Delights Featured July 17
Wild & Free Featured July 18
Garden Art Featured July 19
Hot & Spicy Featured July 20
Hello again!!! :) It's time for a look at another newly released stamp set called Wild & Free. I am showing you two projects I made. The first is a fast simple altered notebook. I cut some cross stitch Aida Cloth and stamped my image across the cloth and raveled the edges by pulling some strings. I added a wooden button from my stash and threaded a scrap of the Aida cloth through the holes. This little notebook and matching pen is a fabulous gift for $4. Seriously! Can you beat that???
My second project is using some DP from DCWV that I found on my second ever trip to Hobby Lobby. It was tough to focus on the stamp sets I had just received as my mind was whirling with glee. My hubby pulled up out front and dropped me off!! **squeal** anyway... I stamped my image onto black CS with Versamark ink and then covered it with Perma Tac and heated that to melt and become sticky. I then dumped some hot pink MS Glitter on top of the sticky and quickly heat set it again to get the glitter to really stick good. A few hot pink gems in the corners and done.
Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!) All four winners will be announced on July 21, 2012 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!) The deadline for commenting is 11PM EST on Friday July 20, 2012.

I love that you stamped on the cloth for your first project and I'm delighting in that hot pink glitter. Wow! I don't know what I would do without Hobby Lobby or as I call it, Hobster Lobster...don't ask. :-) Just a silly name I chose.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and creative! I love the idea of stamping on the cloth. So clever!
ReplyDeleteOooooh, pink and black. Nice combo.
ReplyDeletelove both these projects KelliJo especially the pink & black animals-perfect colors for a teen girl card

ReplyDeletewhow really great projects KJ...gasp...girl you gotta make Hobby Lobby your first stop shopping..and sign up for their e-mails to get a weekly 40% off coupon...I never shop without it :)
ReplyDeleteCute projects. Love the notebook.
ReplyDeleteWEll, I never would of thought of pink for this set; yet I think 3 or 4 of you did. And guess what? I love it. What a striking card and your MFP blog project is also awesome, Kelli!!!
ReplyDeleteLike the use of the fabric on the altered notebook. LOL at your remark about it only being your 2nd ever trip to Hobby Lobby. There are 2 Hobby Lobby stores close to my house. I go to them once a wk. There is also a 3rd one a bit farther that I go to also. Wild about this stamp set. Wonderful creations. On my bucket list is to go on an African Safari. I used Be Wild & Free for the Simple Salutations Ch#3 Tree and used 2 inks to color it. It's like I'm part of the hop. You gals have such wonderful techniques for your creations.

ReplyDeleteThe pen and notebook are fabulous. Pink and black make a major statement! A Hobby Lobby will be opening by year's end about 40 miles from home. Having read many references to them on many blogs I follow, I'm looking forward to shopping there from time to time.
