MFP a HC challenge~ Childs Birthday Card

Hello Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Company fans!!!!  (whew that's a mouthful) lol

Today we are challenged to make a child's birthday card.  and it WAS a Challenge for me.... But then **BAM** inspiration hit me... LAST minute I admit... I put this card off until tonight and then knocked it out.  I used Train Talk and Be Happy Mini Sentiment for my card.  Some Blue Oxford Stripe paper and I have a little boys card.  I added some small cloud dies for the smoke "puffs"....

Now isn't this CUTE???!!!!  Love that little rail car carrying the "Happy Birthday" sentiment!!!!  I just masked off the engine and the caboose stamping them separately and the sentiment in the middle!!!!

Come on over the the Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge blog and play along!!!!  :)

C4C147~ Hot Summer Nights

Well here we are at the end of my Hostess Month at the Crazy 4 Challenges Blog!!!  This week I wanna see what you do on a Hot Summer Night!!!!  Me, well, lately, I've been going to bed EARLY as we have been traveling with my daughters Select Fast Pitch Team, that sun makes me sleepy!!!!  lol  BUT... we are done and now I get to sit and listen to the neighbor kids screaming, running and having fun!  I LOVED Summer nights growing up.  I grew up where it was very warm and the evening temps were only 80.  That meant we could play in the sprinklers at dark... OH MY GOSH it was FUN!!!!!  SO, I am reliving my childhood through my card!!!!  This is using MFT PI called Sprinkler Girl!!!!  She's SO stinkin CUTE... I paper pieced my image and colored her with Touch Twin Markers.  I used some green twine to mimic the grass!!!!

Come on over to the Crazy 4 Challenges blog and show me what YOU do (or did) on a Hot Summer Night!!!!

This is a pretty photo heavy post... bear with me...

Shrinky Dink Material, I used the pre sanded stuff
Punch hole in your cut out shape BEFORE heating!
Stamp your image with Staz On Ink
Color with your favorite medium, I chose colored pencils.
This is the image after shrinking, shown next to the stamp so you can see just how much it shrinks.
Attach a pretty cord for hanging
Grab your clear Christmas Ornaments and "snow" I used Martha Stewart Mica Flakes
Attach the shrinky dink to the top of the ornament with hot glue
Add the "snow"
Put the two halves of the ornament together.  Next take your hot glue gun and a pretty trim and inch by inch cover the seam of the ornament

See... almost done!!!! :)  Add a hanging string now.

Add a pretty gold bow to complement your trim and hanging cord.  Viola!  a Beautiful hand crafted ornament for your tree or a friends!!!

I know my buddy Kate has an alternative to the shrinky dinks.  Make sure you pop by and check hers out too! :)

YNSC8~A Sketch

Hello Peeps!!!  It's time for the weekly sketch over at Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog!!!!  Today it's a sketch!!!  Peggy hooked us up with a good one!!!

https://yournextstamp1.basecamphq.com/projects/9675588/file/129687528/ynsc8sketch.jpeg

Today I am using Mini Happy Days Mermaid.  She comes with a matching die but I decided to put her in a fish bowl, from last months release of dies.  I LOVE that set of dies that came out... I colored her and paper pieced her bottom half.  Cracked Glass is the technique on this "fish bowl".

Some turquoise netting (like fish net lol) was in the place of the ziggity zaggity shape at the bottom!!!  Come on and play along with us and link up your cards to Splitcoaststampers and/or the YNS Challenge blog, a random participant will win $10 GC to the YNS Store.  That can buy you a pretty good wad of goodies in the sale area OR one of the AWESOME Grab Bags.... BUT WAIT... There's more!!!!!  YOU could be chosen as a guest designer for YNS if you use a YNS Stamp set in your card!!!!!

I have a project today!! YAY!  I chose to make a gift card holder.  A New style for me so this was fun!!! I used Country Church Mini stamp set.  It was colored with Touch Twin Markers.  Ribbon and pearls added.  I added an extra "pull tab" out of sparkly ribbon just for a bit of extra oomph!  The image was stamped on the sentiment panel in Memento London Fog and then the sentiment stamped over the top of that in Memento Tuxedo Black!

Karber Girl~KelliJo

I had a bit of free play time tonight so I created this card using Karber Stamps!  Berenice is a SUPER Sweet lady and has some really cute stamps available both in clear and several Digi's!!!  THIS is a clear set... I'm not a digi kinda gal.... ;)

Some "Happy" DP and the last of my Heidi Swapp clear flowers from a LONG time ago... *sniff* MFT Hexagon Dienamic and TCP Twine in my buttons.

Inky Impressions Inspiration Post~KJ

I'm SO sorry Inky Peeps!  I totally spaced that today was my day to INSPIRE you.... **snaps fingers**

SO, how about I post a quick card now instead of just being a party pooper and not posting at all... I agree!!!  SO...  Here is a quick simple Christmas Card featuring a Inky Sentiment and Inky Pearls.  I am NOT a big fan of Green (except my Oregon Ducks) but these pearls are GORGEOUS.... they almost have a gold hue to them!!!!

I ran my tree die cut through a embossing folder and popped it on pop dots on top of older DP and some lace sticky tape!  Done!  simple dimple right?  Would make a great easily mass produced card!

YNS and RCC62

I just received my new stamp sets from Your Next Stamp.  I just HAD to whip out those Window dies/stamps!!!  I was cruisin around the blogs and stopped by my buddy Corinna's blog to get caught up on the challenges over at Ribbon Carousel Challenge Blog and saw Danielle L was the hostess and the challenge is a color challenge.  Lollipop, Cotton Candy and Easter Grass.  I had just been to Corinna's house and picked up some AWESOME paper and some paper from Bazzil and it just happened to be that Lollipop color.  OMGOSH!  I LOVE it!    Anyway, I am entering my card into the challenge over there.  Why don't you too?

Speedy Fox and Friends ~ Christmas in July

It's time for another challenge... yes!  Hot on the heels of the new release... we don't mess around here at Marks Finest Papers a Heinrich Company! LOL

This week Angela came up with the Challenge "Christmas in July".... we have been madly creating for another version of Christmas in July, but I digress...  Today I used a new stamp set (to me) called Snowball! lol  Short, Simple and to the point!!!!! There are several super cute sentiments to go along with this little chubby Santa!!!    I colored Santa with Touch Twin Markers, used some Washi Tape and some fun flock.  a bit of glaze pen on his boots, gloves, belt and eyes.  bitty twinklettes were added in the sentiment and at random in the top right corner for visual interest.

Head on over to the Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge blog and link up!~  Excited to see how your brain works in Christmas mode when a lot of you are having sweltering heat!!!!

C4C 146 Crazies and Kimmie!!!

Hello Crazy Crazies... Guess What???  Yep!  It's time for another Crazy 4 Challenge Challenge with ME... the hostess... but WAIT... THERE'S MORE!!!!  This week we are sponsored by Kraftin Kimmie Stamps.  Can you believe we were each gifted a stamp set from the newest releases?  I know right??  SPOILED!!!!  lol

Well, since KK is our Sponsor I though it would be SUPER cool to tie in with THEIR challenge this week, ok, kinda cheated as it made me NOT have to be "creative" all by myself... The KK challenge is to use SEWING on your project.  YEP!!!  SEWING... I too gasped and wondered just how "smart" I actually was by being lazy as I can NOT sew a stitch!  I have tried to staple my hem and a button on before... NEITHER of which worked out for me... BUT... I'm pretty good at BS'ing my way through things so I went with the "Faux Sewing" (it's much more attractive of a word than FAKE!).  Awhile ago Jessie talked about this piercer thingie ma bob and so I got me one.  Then I had to buy a SU pad/template thingie.  SEW... I USED IT... then took a fine Copic Liner and made it look like I am a TOTAL Seamstress!!!  ;)  YUP!  Faked ya out huh??? !!!!

I placed some Lace ribbon at a diagonal on the DP so that they both mimic the rolling waves and white surf on top.  My Mermaid Queen is right at home.  I placed her wonky on her matting for some visual effect! ;)  Now this Mermaid Queen is from the new Krafty Klubhouse Set called "SEA JEWELS"  Gold Smooch was applied as were several layers of clear gel pen!
Come one over and link up and let's see your sewing on cards... Real or Faux ;)

MFP New Release Hot & Spicy

Welcome to Mark's Finest Papers a Heinrich Company's
    July Blog Hop!

This month's New Stamp Set Releases are
Asian Delights Featured July 17
Wild & Free Featured July 18
Garden Art Featured July 19
Hot & Spicy Featured July 20

Here we are with the last day showcasing these Fantastic Sets.  I hope you have enjoyed looking at all the cards created even 1/2 as much as I did making them.  What an awesome release.... Each Month is better than the last... I'm pretty super excited to see the Christmas releases.  I'm a bit addicted to Christmas Stamps... OK, but on that line of thought I am going to show you a quirky little card that makes me giggle using the newest set called Hot & Spicy!  I stamped the pepper bunch, colored the images with my Touch Twin Markers and added high light details with my Tim Holtz White Distress Marker. I added some fringe ribbon and hung it swag style by some bright red jewel buttons with curly black wire.  I used a Christmas sentiment with this card!  **giggling**  I'm thinking I LOVE this card!!! ;)

My second card is another giggle maker to me.  I saw the sentiment and just knew I had to use these stamps and make it a his and hers card.  SO... I DID!!!! *wink*  I created another mask for the smallest pepper and using my mask stamped the "he and she" peppers and colored them.  I then added a lil mustache to the "he" pepper.  **holding my belly laughing**  seriously, I'm just cracking myself up lately having fun with these new stamps. I used some of last years MME dp and some little flower buttons with dark green jute in the center to mimic the pepper  stems and done!  LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!

Please hop along with us! You have a chance to win one of the above stamp sets! Just comment on the following blogs (don't forget this one), each day for more chances to win! (You do NOT have to comment on all the blogs each day! The names are drawn randomly!) All four winners will be announced on July 21, 2012 on the Mark's Finest Papers blog. You can go back and comment if you missed a day. (HINT: The more you comment, the more chances you have to win and comments on the MFP blog count twice!) The deadline for commenting is 11PM EST on Friday July 20, 2012.

YNS Challenge 7~Anything Goes

Yippee!!  Today at the Your Next Stamp Challenge Blog the challenge is lead by Julie Elak!  We are given the "all clear" for an anything goes challenge.  Today I chose to use a stamp set called Tobogganing Ellie! Touch Twin Markers and Paper Piecing were used to color!!

I chose to use a cool color, I went with Purple, it's my FAVORITE color EVER and it is a great Winter color.  It feels chilly but fun! :)

I used this cool new little spinnie thing.  I have a series of pictures that shows it in motion.  I dug this fun DP out of my pile of unknown paper and used Purple Crushed Silk ribbon, a snowflake die, and a flower I bought from Etsy some time ago for the center.  Pearls were added for the falling snowflakes and stickles on the humpty die and ground where Ellie is sledding.  :)  LOVE!  Come play along and make sure you post your creation at the YNS Blog or on SplitCoastStampers Forum... YNS and yournextstamp for your key words, YOU could win a $10 GC to shop at YNS just for playing along .... and.... you just MIGHT be selected as the Guest Designer if you use YNS Stamps...
